iPad 2 preview and how to get one cheap!
Now being the first man back in the UK with a retail version of the iPad2 is something I’d like to brag about first and for most! So……BRAP!
Anyway enough of the boasting, let’s get down to business. (let’s keep it short and sweet? If possible)
I stood outside the Apple Store in Mahattan along with over 1000 queuing people for the iPad2 (ok….I blagged my way to the front)
What is all lthe commotion about?
It still dosnt have a USB port! Boo! I hear you say? But that’s all I can find wrong with the it……
Apple have yet again turned a very common tablet (and there are loads on the Market) into an extremely sexy, desirable and needed addition to the gadget household.
What’s the difference? Slim (by a third) Quicker ( by alot) battery life 10hours (easy) easier to handle and cheap to run and buy!
Everyone that’s seen and held it utter the words “I want one!”
Its standard apps as usual, but don’t use your iPhone apps they look poor. Find the apps in iPad and download the one that make your device personal.
I wont bore you with tech specs…..just go to apple website for the geek stuff. Its syncs beautifully with itunes, iPhone, MacBooks etc…and having one just stops people asking “what’s that?” (unless it’s ipad2)
So here’s how you get one on the cheap!
By one from the US. $977 that includes tax and the new and very slick iPad smart cover (£580) 64Gb
Make sure you get AT&T version, it takes a sim card. Once you get it, get a phone contract, but not for phone calls. T-Mobile do a tariff at £5-£10 a month with 3Gb download!!!!! Heres the trick…… You get an Android phone or Blackberry handset. Sell it and offset the money against your purchase.
So I’m on-line for £5, 3Gb download, 64Gb iPad 2 total price £430.

Operation Flashpoint. Red River/ preview
I went to the press and media preview of this game a while ago and I gotta say I was impressed. Now we were not allowed to play any of the campaign missions but parts of the game we did play were very entertaining. The biggest complaint about the previous edition of this game was although it was extremly realistic and authentic it wasn’t actually that much fun to play, Who really wants to trek for miles over hostile terrain only to die and have to spend 15 minutes covering the same ground. Well it looks like these issues have been resolved cos I had loads of fun playing Red river, Even though I must say it did still seem to be a very hard game to conquer. So far it does look like Red River is going to be a hit rather than a miss so check back when we get a full release of the game and we’ll tell you whether to take C.O.D out of your machine.

My Galaxy S is the nuts!!
So all these smart phones are breakdancing and making coffee but I gotta say Im loving my Samsung…When I first got my hands on it I done all the usual stuff like pics and videos on youtube but now Im editing documents and sampling sound fx ( I know Im a geek but Im a cool one) Really it’s the apps that make a difference, if you think of something you wanna do say for example ” I wanna learn how to speak Spanish” Then just look for the app innit!! Seriously some of the games on Android/Google phones are as good as some PS2 titles and nothing beats steering an in game car by actually steering the phone. Layar has still got to be one of the sickest apps ever . Navigation will NEVER be the same again. I’ve used it as a wireless portal( tethering) and it was pretty quick and even though they said I can’t T-Mobile didn’t notice the data usage….ha ha. It really has allowed me to work online and do a couple of meetings with out a laptop. And I didn’t flippin get it free, Had to haggle on an upgrade!! Everyone’s going on about the iPhone 4, Yeah it looks good and it probably does all the same stuff but Im well appy in me own galaxy!!
